Costa del Sol in Playa Bejuco is one of our favorite properties in Esterillos. Costa del Sol is a gated community of single family homes. Each home is individually titled and are just a short 300 yard walk to the beautiful beach of Playa Bejuco. Bejuco is the neighboring beach to Esterillos and is a 25 minute drive south of Jaco, and 35 minutes north of Manuel Antonio. The Esterillos town center is a short walk away, which features grocery, shops, restaurants and gym.

There are a total of 127 homes in Costa Del Sol. Most homes are 3 bedroom, 3 bath, with a single car garage, ranging from 1800-2100 square feet, but there are also larger homes with in the community. These Costa Rica beach homes are built to U.S. standards, featuring granite counter tops, recessed lighting, clay tile roofs, tile floors and concrete block construction. The community features, 24/7 security and underground utilities along with its own water treatment plant. Common area amenities include two community pools, tennis court, and large bbq area for group parties and events.
Expenses
Holding costs for homes in Costa del Sol are extremely inexpensive. HOA fees are just $200 a month, which include landscaping, sewer, garbage, security and maintenance of all the common areas. The community is well managed and currently maintains a large reserve fund. Annual property taxes range from just 600-900 per year!
Rental Potential
There are no restrictions with rentals in Costa del Sol. Most owners prefer not to rent out their property, but there are a good amount who do rent out as a Costa Rica vacation home. Our Recommendation
The reason we are such a big supporter of Costa Del Sol is because it is one of the ONLY gated communities of single family homes, individually titled, with walking distance to the beach. With prices starting at $229,000, the value is strong, while both resales and rentals consistently do well. We feel these homes are ideal for anyone dead set on not wanting a condo and/or for retirees. If your price range is under $250,000 and you are looking for a single-family home in Costa Rica, you should consider Costa del Sol in Esterillos.
