Important Suggestion for Jaco Property Owners

Remember when people use to get a glass of water from the faucet? Well seems like that was quite some time ago, as now most instead have turned to bottled water. And when it comes to travelers bottled water is definitely a common purchase. While Mexico and some other Latin America countries might not have the cleanest of drinking waters, Costa Rica water for the most part features safe drinking water from the tap. In Jaco the water is safe to drink, but understandably travelers can be snobby with their drinking water and still prefer to go with bottled water. The problem is that plastic consumption is a critical issue effecting us all. Annual consumption of plastic bottles is set to top half a trillion by 2021, far outstripping recycling efforts and jeopardizing oceans, coastlines and other environments.

So, where am I going with this? If you manage or own vacation properties in Jaco you can help. I recommend to all managers and owners to purchase a Brita pitcher so guests can be encouraged to refill water from the tap and not purchase bottled water. This is obviously a nice feature for the guests as well as they can have cold, filtered water when they arrive to the property. It’s a very inexpensive item that make a significant impact on the amount of plastic bottles added to our environment. There are additional filters and systems that owners can install, whichever you are willing to do is helpful, but at the very least encourage you to make this small purchase in order to help with this serious problem.
